I own and run a photographic agency with a team of London and South-East England based professional photographers. We are commissioned to capture a range of corporate, social, public or private events. I designed and developed the branding and online e-commerce solution of what has now become a recognised and respected name in the field of event photography.

I was brought into the organisation to develop its online and digital offerings. This involved beating a path to encourage key people within the organisation to see new technology as a huge business opportunity, requiring influencing and bringing people around to new ideas and change within the organisation. I was successful in achieving over £500,000 revenue growth through new business generation and key account development within the first 10 months. I managed the organisations ability to offer cost effective and innovative emerging technology solutions to a wide range of blue-chip organisations (such as 3 Video Mobile, Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Diageo, Levi’s, PlayStation and Virgin Trains) across a range of technologies and platforms (internet, wireless, mobile and TV).

I managed the agency’s ability to offer innovative emerging technology solutions to a wide range of blue-chip organisations – Comic Relief, Disney, Twentieth Century Fox, Interflora, Paul Smith, Early Learning Centre – across a range of technologies and platforms (internet, intranet, WAP, iDTV etc). An important part of the role was to evaluate emerging technologies, recognise their influence on business strategies and convert this knowledge into practical and at the same time creative applications. I was instrumental in encouraging the agency to put the client at the centre of its activities, taking a “value-add” approach, which involved bringing people within the agency around to a new mindset in their day-to-day activities.

Managed a £3 million plus programme to provide a fully managed hosting solution for all ANM’s internet properties – large scale web-farm programme to centralise and streamline operations. – Recruited and built the technical and design teams – Managed the technical and design department of 5 full-time developers and 6 technical contractors, 6 full-time designers and 2 design contractors – Managed the design and development of ANM’s online presence: – www.thisislondon.co.uk, www.thisismoney.com – www.charlottestreet.com (now www.femail.co.uk) which was awarded – Component-Based Development Innovator of the Year by ADTmag.com

UK New Media Manager at CompuServe | AOL — 1997 – 1999

At the time of joining CompuServe, the company had just been taken over by AOL and was embarking on a huge transformation and re-branding process. I was instrumental in this process by creating a new on and off-line presence for the organisation. This was a new role for the organisation and involved creating new strategy in operational, product development and management areas. In the process, I undertook significant research at AOL’s user centres in the US and built both creative and technology teams, involving the recruitment of new people and retraining and coaching existing members of staff. – Managed the design and development of CompuServe UK/Europe online presence – Re-designed CompuServe’s global brand and created guidelines for global usage – Recruited and built the new media design team (creative and technical programmers).

Design and production of multimedia presentations for blue chip corporate clients (ICL, Arthur Andersen & Co., Global Asset Management and Dixon Group plc) at a time when presentation technology was limited – found ways of making inspiring presentations on the early PC’s which involved breaking new ground in terms of the use of available technology. – Design and production of multimedia presentations for blue chip corporate clients (Arthur Andersen & Co., GAM, ICL). – 3D animation and video specialist.

Design, production and development of electronic diskette magazine in English, French, Spanish and German for Ford Motor Company.
